Microsoft Preparing 80 Inch Windows 8 Tablets for Offices

As if it wasn?t enough that Steve Ballmer has an 80 inch tablet in his office, now Microsoft is preparing to offer such huge slates to businesses and offices. Previously we?ve found out that Ballmer replaced his phone, paper and everything with this single huge tablet with Windows 8.

He has hung it on his office wall and uses it for email and other purposes, like being his whiteboard. Microsoft VP Frank Shaw says that such a 80 inch tablet is a device that MS is going to sell. In case you?re wondering, this is not the same 80 inch Sharp Aquos Board touchscreen from CES 2012 in Las Vegas. Shaw said that the model Ballmer has is made by a different company, but it?s running Windows 8. It?s interesting to see that the new OS can run on anything, from smaller devices to huge wall-hanging machines or even smartphones in some cases.

The same MS official said that obviously this 80 inch tablet, like the Microsoft Surface isn?t quite meant for consumers, at least not initially. The guys at Microsoft are emphasizing the idea that ?every screen should be touch? and ??every screen should be a computer?, reminding me of a sci-fi clip they posted on the web a year ago.
